Summer Moving Season Is Here: Don’t Miss Out on This Housing Market Update

The critical market changes that are happening as we enter the summer.

As we roll into summer, what is happening to our housing market? We are in the middle of the Permanent Change of Station (PCS) season, which is one of the biggest moving seasons of the year. If you want to buy or sell a home during this time, there are a few things you need to know about the current market.

In terms of inventory, there are about 550 homes on the Onslow County market, with over 150 of them under $300,000. That price range is still affordable for a lot of people. Also, this is a significant improvement compared to the same period last year when inventory was considerably lower.

Although sellers still hold the advantage, the average number of days on market has increased. This time last year, homes would sell within 10 days. Today, it's closer to 30 or 40 days. However, you need to know that homes are still selling. As a homeowner and seller, you are in control of the sales process and in the driver's seat. As for buyers who are keeping an eye on the market, there are more opportunities available, and affordability is still achievable.
